It's Fall Festival Time At Broadway At The Beach

October is a big month for festivals and fundraising at Broadway at the Beach, so mark your calendar! It's time for the Myrtle Beach community to gather to raise funds for good causes, listen to great music, enjoy vintage cars and sample yummy foods. And, since this is the month that includes Halloween, we finish with a flurry of activities for ghosts and goblins of all ages.

This coming weekend, the beauty and excitement of a classic car show rolls into town as Cruisin' The Beach takes center stage from October 13th through 15th. The party starts at 8 a.m. each day. Vendors will be offering everything from food and drinks to T-shirts. There will be trophies and awards for the cars, plus various giveaways for attendees.

Saturday October 15th is also the day that Hard Rock Café, in their new location, will host a fundraising event for victims of Hurricane Matthew. Rockin' For The Red Cross will have no cover charge, but "donations will be gratefully accepted." Starting at 7 p.m., the event will feature a concert by The Atwater Band, great raffle prizes and auction items. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the local chapter of the American Red Cross to assist with Hurricane Matthew relief.

On Saturday, October 22nd, families will gather at 9 a.m. to raise both awareness and funds to help the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The group invests in new research, creates educational programs and supports survivors of suicide loss. Participants in the Out of the Darkness Walk will walk 2 miles around the grounds of Broadway, then come together for the closing ceremony.

With Halloween right around the corner, The Sun News will host a brand new event at Broadway, Truck-or-Treat, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 22nd. A very special event for anyone who loves trucks, this is designed to be an interactive experience for kids and their families. So be prepared to get up close and check out trucks ranging from emergency vehicles to big rigs. This free event features trick or treat candy, carousel rides, train rides, a petting zoo and more! That same day, the Carver High School Marching Band will perform outside WonderWorks at 1 p.m..

Have you ever been to a Monster's Ball? Join us for this annual Halloween Bash and Costume Contest in Celebrity Square on Saturday, October 29th at 8 p.m. Everyone in costume gets free admission to all the clubs! Prizes are $2000 for first, $1000 for second, and $500 for third — so dress to win!

On Monday, October 31st, bring your little superheroes, princesses and pirates for Trick or Treat as our participating merchants give out treats to all little ones in costume.

Then we'll close out the month by lighting up the Halloween night sky with fireworks at 8 p.m., marking the end of October's festival festivities.
