April Is The Month To Exercise Support For Charities

Posted in Special Events

Time for an outdoor workout?

A walk, relay and race to raise money for three Myrtle Beach area charities will take center stage at Broadway at the Beach this April.

Put on your walking shoes for a low impact trip around Broadway at the Beach April 5 as part of the 3rd Annual Matt Harper Scholarship Walk to benefit Coastal Carolina University's Coastal Carolina Network Cooperative Scholarship Endowment. Register at 8:30 a.m., then enjoy the After Party at 10 a.m.

On April 11 there's an all-nighter planned for Broadway at the Beach from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. It's the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Myrtle Beach/South Strand. Team up with family or friends and take turns walking around a designated track as the hours tick by. When you're not up on your feet, you can camp out and enjoy food, games and other family-friendly entertainment. All proceeds benefit American Cancer Society research and patient programs.

Let's all help build a better world on April 12 at the Habitat for Humanity of Horry County's 2ndAnnual Bed Race. Registration is at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m., your five-person team will design and build a racing bed. Then you'll put the hammer down during team heats that feature four runners and one rider in each bed. Proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity of Horry County.

Exercise your way to some great fun for good causes. We'll be watching for you!
