LACE UP FOR A GOOD CAUSE AND GREAT FUN AT RELAY FOR LIFE

Attention, walkers! Lace up your shoes and join the effort to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The Relay For Life is the world's largest and most significant fundraising event contributing to efforts to end cancer, and the Myrtle Beach event is one of many held around the world.

This year's Relay includes an action-packed day of activities, offering a little something for everyone.

Walkers raising money sign up in teams, then take turns walking around a track throughout the time of the event. They set up camp at the track and use their camp as command central. But, since individuals don't have to stay with their team the entire time of the event, there's plenty of opportunity to check out everything it has to offer including the food, games, entertainment and other activities that are part of the Relay day.

The festivities begin at Broadway at the Beach at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. Located on the corner of Grissom Parkway and 21st Avenue North, the event will feature a variety of activities for kids of all ages. There will be a dunking booth, trackless train, and arcade games. Entertainment will include performances by Coastal Youth Ballet, Socastee High School, Silver Line Dancing, Shelley Sasser from Dino Capone's School of Rock and more.

The fun goes on until midnight that night with more than 30 teams and more than 330 participants!

If you want to join a team as a walker, there's still time to sign up and/or donate.
