Celebrate American Craft Beer Week® At Liberty

Posted in Special Events, Dining

It's American Craft Beer Week® through May 18. Broadway at the Beach's own small brewer, Liberty Brewery & Grill, is celebrating all week long. Here are just few reasons to join in:

  • Special prices rule during the week. Pints are on special. It's a great time to pair up a hand-crafted beer with some of Liberty's rich ethnic cooking like the Brewpub Brat or a perfectly seared angus beef steak.
  • Entertainment is free. Live music on Friday sets the mood for testing a variety of Liberty's best brews.
  • Craft Beer Week is when many brewers debut their new recipes. Liberty will be tapping a new beer on Friday, May 16, at 4 p.m. You can be among the first to give it a try.
  • Curious about what makes a beer exceptional? This is the sweet spot of the year for beer enthusiasts who gather to exchange news and insights about brews. For beer beginners, there's no better time to improve your education and your palate.
  • Independent craft brewers like Liberty are making some of the most interesting new drinks around. From chocolate cherry porters to raspberry wheat ale, hand-crafted beers deliver a unique experience to your taste buds.

America's love for specialty beers is growing. American Craft Beer Week is the perfect time to find out why. So come out and join the fun!

Celebrate The 100th Anniversary Of Mother’s Day With Your Mom!

Did you know that Mother's Day turns 100 this year?

Thanks to West Virginian Anna Jarvis' love for her own mother (and some vigorous campaigning by Anna), Mother's Day was declared a national holiday in 1914.

With such an historic Mother's Day just around the corner, why not plan a legendary day for your Mom?

After a morning spent on the beach soaking up the warm sun and watching pelicans and gulls dip and dive for food, take Mom on a lunch break. Head over to one of the restaurants overlooking Lake Broadway where, together, you can relax on a deck, enjoy the soft breeze coming off the lake, and share a laugh about the antics of the ducks waddling along the lake banks.

After lunch, indulge Mom's fondness for shopping with visits to unique shops like Bijuju and Heartfire. Watch her smile as she discovers the latest styles in handbags, sorts through fascinating accessories, and examines some eye-catching jewelry.

Spice up your day together with a little outdoor competition playing mini-golf at Dragon's Lair Fantasy Golf. Or move indoors to Carmike Cinema — Broadway 17 and catch that chick-flick she's been wanting to see.

And what would a Mother's Day be without a family photo to commemorate the big day? Make this year's snapshot as memorable as your day together with a photo by Old Tyme Portraits By Treadway. Outfitted in costumes from days gone by, you'll get a shot she'll enjoy forever!

Don't let the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day go by without honoring Mom in a special way this year. Give her the gift of time with you at Broadway at the Beach, and make Mother's Day memories that she'll keep in her heart forever!
