Broadway at the Beach will host its annual Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 16. This free event will feature holiday-themed live performances and a firework extravaganza over Lake Broadway.
Performances will begin at 6 p.m. on the stage in the courtyard of The Hangout restaurant. This year’s event, hosted by WPDE’s Ed Piotrowski and Jennifer Abney, will include performances by Socastee High School’s Socastee Singers, Broadway Theater, Legends In Concert and Carolina Dance District.
Following the live performances, a surprise visitor from the North Pole will help light the tree, which is located over the lake next to Margaritaville.
To make the evening even more special, at 8 p.m. a firework extravaganza will light up the sky over Lake Broadway.
Before the lighting celebration, there will be children’s activities from 2-4 p.m. in The Hangout’s courtyard to include face painting, character appearances, balloon tying stilt walkers and more. There will also be a special table with “Thank You” cards for guests who would like to write a note of gratitude to Veterans.
Throughout the holiday season after the official tree lighting ceremony, the Broadway at the Beach tree will feature a synchronized music and light show every 30 minutes from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Starting Saturday, Nov. 23 and every Saturday through Dec. 21, Santa Claus and his friends will be in Center Court from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. for visits and photos.
