The Great Indoors of Broadway at the Beach

We've all heard the saying; April showers bring May flowers. Sure, the saying helps us to see the brighter results of those rainy days, but it's safe to say, most of us still get a little bummed out as the rain clouds roll in and our plans of sitting in a beach chair along the Myrtle Beach shore are washed away.

However, when Mother Nature isn't cooperating with our planned beach days, there's no reason to stay walled up at home or in your hotel room as Broadway at the Beach offers several indoor attractions where you can explore the depths of the ocean or go beyond the limits of earth!

At Ripley's Aquarium, experience the Sea-for-Yourself Discovery Center, an interactive, multimedia playground for visitors of all ages as well as explore the creatures of the dangerous reef and the 750,000-gallon shark tank! But it's not all about the sharks; you can even pet stingrays, be eye to eye with sea turtles and watch as mermaids perform live!

When passing storms put a damper on your afternoon by the shore, there's another option for indoor adventures at Broadway. From a 360 degree, virtual roller coaster, to lying on a bed of 3,500 nails to maneuvering the controls of a NASA spacecraft to standing up against hurricane force winds, WonderWorks has it all and then some!

You can also escape Mother Nature all together with a group of friends at Backstage Escape Games or navigate your way through the 2,000 square feet Backstage Mirror Maze! And for some of us less than active folks, you can always stay dry as you watch the latest flicks at the Big D Theatre and Carmike Cinemas Broadway 17!

So in the midst of sprinklings and showers, there's no reason to let Mother Nature rain on your parade as you explore the great indoors of Broadway at the Beach!

Spring Forward Into Fashion, Food & Fun At Broadway

On Sunday, March 12th, it will happen. Whether we like it or not, it will happen. Whether we are ready for it or not, it will happen. It's the day when we lose an hour of sleep and the day we have an excuse for that third trip to Starbucks before noon. Okay, this is sounding negative, so let's try again.

On Sunday, March 12th, it will happen. It's the day the sun begins to shine a little longer. It's the day we unofficially say goodbye to the winter woes. It's the day we spring forward into a new season. It's daylight savings time!

Although the official beginning of Spring 2017 isn't until Monday, March 20th, we'll already be in the new season spirit after we cross daylight savings time off the calendar! And Broadway has a plethora of ways to help us get in the new spring swing of things! First up; shopping.

The annual chore of putting away the sweaters and coats and pulling out the sandals and sun dresses can be made more enjoyable when adding a few new stylish pieces from Denim Exchange and Bijuju and grabbing a new pair of designer shades from Sunglass Hut! Don't forget, a new ensemble isn't complete until you step into the season with a new pair of Crocs or by stopping by Rack Room Shoes to lace up a new pair of running shoes.

There's another way to let go of the winter blues at Broadway.

Grab a seat, sip on something sweet and take in the warmer season at one of our dining hotspots that feature outdoor seating! Whether you're on the patio of Liberty Brewery & Grill, on the deck of Johnny Rockets or Landry's Seafood, you're sure to find something to quench your thirst and to fill your belly. If you're up for a little people watching while enjoying something delicious, Hard Rock Café, Wahlburgers and American Tap House have a seat waiting for you!

The list of ways to enjoy the longer days of spring at Broadway can go on and on, from feeding the newest ducklings to taking in the newest blockbuster at the Big D Theatre to exploring the depths of the ocean at Ripley's Aquarium to voyaging to the unknown of space at WonderWorks, there are plenty of places to enjoy the season of new beginnings at Broadway!

The New Era At Broadway

Posted in Broadway at the Beach, Featured Posts

It's the heartbeat of Broadway at the Beach. It's the focal point of a fun time. It's the go to meeting place to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of friends and family, milestone birthdays and the place to dance away the blues with your best buds after a breakup. After serving two decades of being the place to celebrate, sing, dance and laugh, the square is changing shape with a face lift.

Before Radio Broadway begins every morning, the sounds of change can be heard as exterior renovations of Malibu's Surf Bar, Club Oz, Broadway Louie's and Crocodile Rocks continue. Each nail pound, welding spark and saw grind brings us one step closer to a new era at Broadway as we also await the completion of Dave & Buster's, a lunch and dinner eatery and entertainment game center all under one roof, rounding out the square.

If you haven't visited us in a while, you're definitely in for a treat; from the new look to the newly opened places of food fare.

As the new 40-foot guitar on Hard Rock Cafe spins, the kitchen inside the two story restaurant continues to cook up delicious dishes for new visitors and the returning faithful alike. Broadway has also welcomed Wahlburgers and American Tap House with their burgers, unique dishes, brews and desserts. And although the menus of each place differ in selection, there's one option offered at them all; outdoor seating, which if you're like us, is a perfect place to eat, drink and people watch during the warm seasons of South Carolina!

We're not just anxiously waiting for the square to be complete. We're also waiting for the doors of Paula Deen's Family Kitchen and Carolina Ale House (across 29th Avenue North near Legends in Concert) to open bringing us even more options for delicious dining! Don't worry, we'll let you know when opening dates are announced as we are just as excited as you are!

So as the sounds of change fill the air as well as add to our anticipation and crews continue to rejuvenate, renovate and reshape our destination of fun, food and entertainment; we'll just eat, drink and enjoythe new memories to be made at Broadway at the Beach!
